XANDIS.COM is a venture managed by Drake Analytics, Inc., a Seattle-based technology services firm. Drake Analytics, Inc. was founded in 1998 by members of the Drake Holdings Group, who continue to serve as advisors. When XANDIS.COM was started in 1999, it focused on low-level programming in assembly language, C and Forth, with focus given to multimedia applications and the BeOS system. The trend over time has been to continue to specialize in multimedia development in the same languages but most work is now done under Microsoft Windows with DirectX. Beginning in late 2003, XANDIS.COM started to work on a set of products that would target programmers new to multimedia development as the market for such skills is extremely hot and there is a shortage of qualified programmers. In December of 2003, Arcade Game Design with C++ and DirectX, a case study of XR7: EarthStrike was released to a very strong response.
